GP Pay

Salaam,

"Some GPs are earning as much as £250,000 a year after expenses under their new contract...GP wages have risen by up to 25% since the contracts were introduced in 2004"

If i EVER hear another medical student complain about low pay in the medical profession and about how bankers are overpaid..

Salaam

  • You tell 'em...and add to the above:

    (from the attached article) -

"Overall we have not seen a big increase in productivity, indeed we may have seen a down in productivity because of shut surgeries on Saturday mornings, and no responsibility for 24 hour cover.

"It does not look like a terribly good deal at the moment for the taxpayer and the patient."

  • Salam

It's Al-Amin. Met up with Anis Loonat recently (...another GP who's NOT on £250K/yr), he mentioned having met you in Amman.

Glad to see you're having a great time.

Is that the Nurul that I think it is..... who comments that he hates Docs?? ........ wait till I see him!!

With regards the headlines of £250K/yr, it's almost as good as saying some lawyers (obviously top city ones) are earning £1m+/yr!! On average, GP's are earning £100-120K/year nowadays.

Let me know when you return to Burnley. I don't know whether you have heard about dad's departure from this Dunya on the 3rd March (did he teach you the Qur'an ? I know he taught your elder brother and sister).....
