Better Late Than...

Salaams,

I'm so bad with timing and being organised. It's something i've always ahd an issue with and it contnuies to haunt me...

YEs, i was supposed to weote something a week ago, then a few days ago etc etc...but finally now..even though i'm Still in a rush...

Since i've been back from my travels, everything seems to have gone by Sooo quickly -i was at home for 3 weeks and now i've been on London for a month (a month..!!) but it seems like a few days ago i was riding my camels in the sahara...big time nostalgia kicking in (yeah, you know it...)

Anyway, yes, a month has flown by in London and i finished my training on Friday, so decided to go back home for the weekend. That in itself was a bit of a mission due to the british tansport system - i was supposed to get home at 9;30, but due to one delay and another this ended up being midnight.

The wwekend itself seemed to disolve away very quickly, and now i'm back in London again..its bizzarre, but it seems like i've been away from London for ages though...I suppose this is because Burnley is so different from London that it feels like its been longer.

Travelling on the trains has been quite fun though in that on the journey to burnley i ended up sitting in first class (we got moved up for free as all normal seats had run out..)opposite a Muslim woman from South Africa to who i talked for quite a while (I'm a big fan of the South African accent,as with all accents) and on the way back i was sitting next to a guy from Preston who i also talked to for the whole journey and ended up exchanging contact details. Heck, if things carry on like this, i'll end up with quite a few new friends just from travelling back and forth from Burnley...!

As i said, training has now finished which means i start the "proper" job from tomorrow which i'm not really looking forward to to be honest...well first of all i need to be in for 7am (its already nearlly midnight and i haven't even ironed my shirt for tomorrow..!)but also it mean i have to do, like, proper work and stuff...staying on with further education seems so attractive at times like this...

Re this whole blogging thing, it seems to be just tetering out now...as in it needs some closure ASAP...there's Still a few things i wanted to say about it all but NOT TIME...argagagagahahg!!!!

I just seem to have no time for anything these days, and it doesn't feel nice...for eg a bro i know from uni works in a building say 100 metres from mine but i've hooked up with him once...! Sigh...inshaAllah i'll sort something out..

Do dua for me people
Salaams

  • Salaam- inshaAllah khair, don't let your own thoughts overwhelm you... You'll get everything taken care of in due time... and as for the life of a professional, well it's tough but look at it this way we don't have to deal with homework, exams or 20- page thesis papers :)

  • Salaam - ma sha Allah, congratulations on starting work! Good to hear you've had the luxury of free time.

Re your last comment, you actually DO get paid for what you do in most top grad programs (okay, not IB level, but enough nonetheless), plus you get the 3+ month summer holidays that one can only dream of at work. I'd say the best bit about working is getting the weekend, not the pay - when you can just unwind and switch off from work. You just can't afford to do that as a serious grad student.

Oh well, maybe I'm just consoling myself (still a couple years to go!) Mutual du'as are in order.

    Wassalaam.
