Hey, why the generalization? It doesn't fit your personality (or what I know if it from your blog)... btw, my bro-in-law is Arab and is mashaAllah great :)
An "in-joke" with a friend of mine who loves his Arab way of life...i'm sure you've learned how sarcastic i can sometimes be...(although this is quite hard to portray in writing unless you actually know the writer well)
Btw i'm sure your bro-in-law is a top guy...the notion of an asian marrying an arab is bigtime taboo in the UK though...American Muslims (or those i've met) seem a Lot more progressive (in a good way) than us Brits, Alhamdulilla.
OH, you would think someone as sarcastic as me would be able to detect it in others :)
As for the inter-racial marriages, yes they are quite common out here but there are still notions of sticking to one's culture regardless of deen. UK Muslims, from what I have seen, are much more connected to their roots than their American counterparts- that might have something to do with more of them wanting to marry within their own kind.
Burnley to Cambridge to Cairo to...
My Gap year blog before i get lost in the world of Banking. Hopefully i will cover Bangladesh, Jordan, Egypt and wherever else the wind takes me..
